A polyester gym tote sheds around 700,000 microfibres in a single wash — most of them small enough to slip past wastewater filters and end up in rivers, fish, and tap water. A standard cotton bud has a polypropylene stick wrapped in cotton glued on with a synthetic adhesive; once you flush it, the plastic outlasts you by a couple of centuries.

GOTS-certified organic cotton for the gym bag — no PFAS waterproofing, no polyester lining, no microfibre shed. Bamboo paper stems for the buds, with the cotton compression-fitted rather than glued. Both are listed material-by-material on their product pages, with the studies on polyester shedding and ocean plastic linked from the body copy.
